Clams Both mud clams and razor clams can be taken in the local area. Mud clamming at low tide along the Siuslaw River on Hwy 126 is a favorite. Others prefer the tasty razor clam that can be found at the Hobbit Trail beach and others.
Dungeness Crab are a local favorite with a sweet , rich flavor. Best crabbing starts in August.
Oysters are grown at private farms in Winchester Bay and can be purchased at the Krab Kettle for a one-of-a-kind Oregon Coast grilled oyster & bon fire experience.
Mussels Both the blue bay mussel and brown California surf mussel grow on the rocks along the Oregon Coast. Properly prepared, these mussels compare with those in the finest restaurants. Check harvest health advisories.

Fresh Water Fish
Salmon Falls runs only, spring runs are extinct. Chinook and Coho Salmon on the Siuslaw and area creeks.
Steelhead - Winter run only beginning around Thanksgiving and through February.
Sea-run Cutthroat - Smaller salmonid fish that can be caught in the Siuslaw and smaller streams from Aug - Dec.
Mushrooming is at its peak in October with an abuandce of sought after varieties like Chanterelles, Boletes and Lobster. Always get expert advise before mushrooming.
Blackberries peak at the end of August and can be found near any body of water and many forests.
Huckleberries ripen in late August & September, growing in large sunlit patches within the forest.
Salmonberries ripen early, by mid-June and grow on tall bushes in shaded areas in the forests around Florence.
Oregon Grapes - Mid-summer berry that grows in clusters on holly berry type bushes and trees.
